Zen Center of New York City Existing Conditions Study

ZCNYC is housed in two 150 year old townhouses that were combined and transformed into a funeral chapel in the early 1900’s. After establishing and initiating a building maintenance plan in 2014, Polyarch collaborated with Romines Architecture to perform a technical existing conditions study to prepare the center for a master plan that allows the center to remain active in the building as the building is renovated in phases. Structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building envelope, code and zoning analysis were performed. A repair plan was prepared to address immediate needs.
